First of all we went to a local taverna where they have all sorts of fruit trees set around a beautiful small courtyard.
Fro the outside it looks a fairly unassuming place and one we would certainly have passed by. In fact, it's a bit out of the centre and probably not one we would have passed at all.
And here's what it's like inside the courtyard ....
Anna telling us a little about the 'pub' |
Garlic keeps the mosquitos away |
Pomegranate tree |
Lemon tree |
Chili tree |
We think this was all one plant! |
Then Anna took us to the church opposite. It used o be a military site, so was probably a military chapel. The military have long since gone, but they do look after the site.
It is tiny and yet like the Tardis inside ....
Just to break in here - I know they say that a week is a long time in politics, but a Happy Hour is a very long time in Greece!
Monastery on the top. Pub at the last part of the plateau on the right before the final climb. One of our party asked how to walk up there - in these temperatures? Was he mad?
